Weekly Newsletter — march 5, 2026
HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: baptisms!
Scripture teaches that individuals who put their trust in Christ for salvation should be baptized. Baptism signifies union with Jesus Christ, specifically in His death, burial and resurrection. It is our way of telling others we are not our own, that we have been bought with a price and that we have identified with Jesus Christ (Romans 6.1-14, Matthew 28.18-2). Your baptism is important to us and we are honored to lead you through it. Our next baptisms will take place Easter Sunday, April 5th at all services!
There will not be impromptu baptisms for children 5th grade and under. If you have questions or have interest contact childrens@gbcc.me.
THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE
This Sunday we are starting a four-week series that walks through four Old Testament narratives — not as distant religious history, but as God's own previews of the cross. Each week reveals a different dimension of what Christ's death means and why it was always the plan. Join us at 8am & 10am and hot breakfast at 9am! Watching online? We stream our 10am message live - find here! Watching after service is over? Find message here.

HELP FOR THE HOMELESS HYGIENE DRIVE
You can participate in the 91.5 FM The Family’s Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive, an annual collection of new, unused personal hygiene and cleaning products that supports more than 130 crisis agencies across Wisconsin. All donated items and financial gifts stay right here in the local community, helping agencies provide essential supplies for the year. These are items that families often desperately need—but that programs like FoodShare (SNAP) and WIC do not cover. In Brown County, donations benefit agencies within the Brown County Homeless & Housing Coalition, helping them focus their funding on critical services like housing, counseling, education, and food assistance. Thank you for helping our neighbors with dignity and care. Look for donation boxes at Green Bay retail stores—especially Walgreens and Festival Foods—and help make a real difference in our community!
ONE DAY FATHER-SON ALUMNI RETREAT — THIS WEEKEND!
Restore One Day Father/Son Alumni Retreat is happening this Saturday, March 7 from 9am–5pm in Crivitz, WI! This special day is designed for fathers and sons (ages 6–13) who have previously attended at least one Father/Son Restore event. We’ll spend the day outdoors enjoying winter fun, building connection, and making lasting memories together. Best of all—it’s completely free! We can’t wait for another meaningful day together. Sign up here to let us know you are coming!
WOMEN’S CAPTIVATING RETREAT: INVITATION FOR WOMEN TO LIVE FULLY & FREELY IN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!
Do you know your irreplaceable role? Not the one that keeps the family calendar running or holds everything together behind the scenes—but the role God uniquely envisioned for you as a woman. Many women show up faithfully, serve generously, and still feel a quiet sense that something deeper has been set aside or forgotten. Captivating Core is an invitation to pause and ask the deeper questions: Who did God create me to be? Am I living fully in that calling? Through teaching, reflection, and intentional space, women are invited to discover and recover their feminine heart—the heart designed for strength, beauty, and deep connection.
This retreat isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s about returning to what matters most and learning how to live from a place of fullness rather than obligation. Join us this May 14th-17th for Captivating Core and begin living more deeply, more freely, and more fully in the role only you can fill. Learn more and register here.

Please sign up here and invite your friends!

CONNECT TO COMMUNITY
Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am in the Church Office Area. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.
Connect to Community will not meet in April due to Easter, the next date is May 3! Sign up here.
